What has been the best part of your experience so far?
Getting to know the students, especially their resilience and commitment to their education.
Why should others volunteer?
Most of us remember someone who made a difference to us when we were young and trying to figure out what we wanted to do with our life. We can be that person for others and pass along our skills, knowledge, and experience. Even if it’s only a few hours here and there. Every little bit helps to improve someone’s life, family, and community.
What would you tell others who are considering volunteering?
Find an opportunity that aligns with your likes and skills. Interview the organization’s leaders to see if it’s a personal fit. If at first you don’t succeed, there will always be other opportunities to volunteer
