I choose The Literacy Alliance because it offers a supportive environment and a second chance to achieve my educational goals. Coming back a second time shows my determination to finish what I started and take full advantage of the opportunity to succeed. The program gives me the structure, resources, and encouragement I need to stay on track and make real progress.
I enjoy my studies because of the positive atmosphere created by my classmates and teacher. Their support and understanding make learning more enjoyable and less stressful. Even though I didn’t graduate from high school in the traditional way, I’m able to complete my education through hard work and a program that fits my needs and learning style.
Ever since I was young, I’ve been fascinated by the medical field—especially the unseen but essential role of an anesthesiologist. My dream is to become one, making sure patients are safe and comfortable during surgery. I know this career path will be a long journey, but I’m ready to commit to the education and training it requires.
Ivy Tech Community College will be a great next step. It will offer healthcare programs like surgical technology and certifications that match my goals, while also being affordable and hands-on. Through courses in anatomy, physiology, and patient care, I will build a strong foundation for medical school and beyond. These programs won’t just teach theory—they’ll give me real-world experience that will help me grow.
To reach my goal, I know financial aid will play a huge role. I will complete the FAFSA to find out what grants, scholarships, and loans I qualify for, and I’ll apply for Ivy Tech’s scholarships to ease the financial burden. That way, I can focus on learning without the constant worry of student debt.
With Ivy Tech’s support, I will gain the knowledge, experience, and confidence I need. After earning a bachelor’s degree, I plan to go to medical school and complete a residency in anesthesiology. My ultimate goal is to provide excellent care and make sure every patient feels safe and supported during surgery.
The Literacy Alliance has helped me believe in myself again, and Ivy Tech will help me take the next big step. I’m beyond ready to dedicate myself to this journey and take full advantage of the opportunities ahead.
