My name is Sydney, and I’m currently working toward earning my GED.
High school was a really tough time for me. I struggled with my mental health, and my parents went through a divorce, which made things even harder. Looking back, I’d say my high school experience was pretty terrible. Life has been hectic, but I’m ready to move forward.
I learned about The Literacy Alliance through my mom, who researched different ways for me to earn my HSE. I want my GED so I can get better job opportunities and possibly go to college. Once I earn it, I plan to get certified as a dog groomer and am also considering becoming a pharmacy technician. College may even be in my future—I’m still exploring my options.
TLA has been incredible in helping me rebuild my math skills. They’ve given me the time, energy, and support I need to stay focused on my goal. The tutors are so patient and understanding, even when I’m dealing with “brain fog.”
If you’re thinking about earning your HSE, I highly encourage you to go for it. The Literacy Alliance is an amazing team that provides all the resources you need to succeed. You just have to put in the work!
