Student Spotlight: Hayday

Student Spotlight

My name is Hayday. Originally from Burma, I’m now married with four children and work at a large retail logistics company. I came to The Literacy Alliance to earn my high school equivalency (HSE/GED) diploma so I can find a job I truly enjoy. It had been a long time since I was in school, but since coming here, my reading and math skills have improved so much. I’ve enjoyed every moment I spend at The Literacy Alliance. Learning in English has its challenges since it’s not my first language, but I love it.

The opportunity to reach my goals feels closer than ever. My advice to others is to make time and avoid excuses.

My next goal is to attend college to become a children’s author.

The opportunity to reach my goals feels closer than ever. My advice to others is to make time and avoid excuses. I’m incredibly grateful for everything The Literacy Alliance has given me: the teachers, the tutors, and the support I need. I feel truly blessed.
