Hi. My name is Alyssia. I am a single mother to an almost 2-year-old. I am here because my sister got her high school equivalency (HSE)...
The Literacy Alliance offices will be closed, and no classes will be held from Tuesday, December 24, 2024, through Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Regular office hours and Project Graduate (GED/HSE) classes will resume on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Project Connect (ELL) classes will restart on Monday, January 6, 2025. From our families to yours, have a safe and joyful holiday season!
My name is Oh. I am 20 years old. I have nine siblings, three boys and six girls. I have a baby boy who is one year old. I currently live with my boyfriend in our own house. I am not working for now, but I plan to in the future.
I came to The Literacy Alliance to get my high school equivalency (HSE) diploma. I started school in America at 7th grade. That was in Denver, Colorado. I went to high school, but I didn’t finish because I was skipping and failing my classes. In my senior year, I stopped going to school because I got pregnant. I fell into depression and lost motivation for school.
“I can do this, and I will do this. I will not give up no matter what. I will keep going and keep trying hard to reach my goal. ”
By attending The Literacy Alliance, I have gotten ready for my HSE exam. My experience at The Literacy Alliance has been great. The teacher and the tutors were great. They helped so much. They also motivated me to never give up and to keep on going. They make sure you’re on the right track.
I want to get my HSE diploma, go to college, and start my career. I can do this, and I will do this. I will not give up no matter what. I will keep going and keep trying hard to reach my goal. I thank everyone who has been on this journey with me.
Oh Naing Shar reached her first goal and passed the HSE exam in September 2021. We can’t wait to see what she will accomplish next!
