I came across the Literacy Alliance four years ago. My mother helped me by calling and setting a date for orientation.
The Literacy Alliance offices will be closed, and no classes will be held from Tuesday, December 24, 2024, through Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Regular office hours and Project Graduate (GED/HSE) classes will resume on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Project Connect (ELL) classes will restart on Monday, January 6, 2025. From our families to yours, have a safe and joyful holiday season!
A Language Arts volunteer for a little over a year, Chris came to TLA through the Volunteer Center in Fort Wayne. She is passionate about the TLA mission and enjoys meeting new people and building new skills.
“Our Allen County Public Library Pre-High School Equivalency students are wonderful. Each has their own story and challenges, but they all work very hard. They also encourage and support one another. I love it when someone exclaims, “Oh, now I get it!” And Megan, our Literacy Instructor, is terrific!”
If you are considering volunteering at The Literacy Alliance, “you will learn with the students, and that makes it fun and rewarding. I have learned so much! We cover a wide variety of subjects.”
