Greyshel, a bright-eyed young woman from Guatemala, found herself unexpectedly transplanted to the heart of Fort Wayne, Indiana, six years ago. Life had taken an unexpected turn, but her spirit remained unbroken.
Fresh out of high school in 2023, she juggles two jobs with remarkable determination. Weekdays, she focuses on quality control at a local factory, ensuring every product meets the highest standards. On weekends, she tirelessly works as a cashier at a Hispanic store, her warm smile and friendly demeanor endearing her to customers.
But behind her busy schedule lies a hidden passion—a love for animals. Growing up on a small farm in Guatemala, she learned to care for rabbits and dogs under her father’s guidance. Those memories fueled her dream of becoming a veterinarian.
Greyshel envisions herself studying veterinary medicine and working hard to become a skilled and compassionate veterinarian. Inspired by her father’s progress, she enrolled in Project Connect classes at TLA. She hoped to gain vocabulary, grammar skills, and pronunciation to express herself more clearly and confidently in her future career.
With each passing day, Greyshel’s determination grows stronger. She is determined to make her dreams a reality, to become the veterinarian she has always wanted to be, and to make a difference in the world. She is more than just a hardworking young woman; she is a dreamer, a fighter, and a beacon of inspiration for anyone who dares to believe in the power of their own dreams.
