"...learning is a lifelong endeavor, and it’s never too late to set new goals for yourself."
The Literacy Alliance offices will be closed, and no classes will be held from Tuesday, December 24, 2024, through Wednesday, January 1, 2025. Regular office hours and Project Graduate (GED/HSE) classes will resume on Thursday, January 2, 2025. Project Connect (ELL) classes will restart on Monday, January 6, 2025. From our families to yours, have a safe and joyful holiday season!
My name is Ruth, and I am the third oldest of five siblings. My family owns a grocery store called Troyer’s Market, where I work five days a week. Some of my hobbies include photography, cooking, baking, cake decorating, and art design. I attend Project Graduate classes in Decatur, Indiana, and learned about the Literacy Alliance through relatives who have also attended these classes.
I was homeschooled until 8th grade and now work in the family business. I joined the GED program to complete my education and better prepare myself to homeschool children in the future. I hope to achieve my GED and have been pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoy math. So far, I have passed the GED Ready Science test, and I’m looking forward to passing my Social Studies practice test soon. The teachers here are fantastic and make learning enjoyable. While I’m excited to graduate soon, I know I will miss the class.
