Become a Student

Here is the process for applicants who are 18 and older:

  1. Submit an Application
Prospective students complete and submit an application to The Literacy Alliance.

  2. Complete Onboarding Paperwork
After submitting the application, students will be directed to complete onboarding paperwork. This step must be completed before an orientation can be scheduled.

  3. Attend Orientation
Once the application and onboarding paperwork are complete, The Literacy Alliance will contact the applicant to schedule a 3-hour orientation. Orientations are held weekly, and prospective students should arrive 10 minutes early.

    During orientation, students will:

  • Learn about the program
  • Have their questions answered
  • Take a skills assessment
  • Be placed in a class based on assessment results

4 . Attend Classes
Students are expected to attend all hours of all classes in which they are placed.

Note: We cannot serve students under the age of 16. Applicants who are 16 or 17 must also provide a signed official exit interview form from their school corporation.
