Juliauna Meyer

Juliauna brings a diverse background to her role as development coordinator at The Literacy Alliance. She pursued a Bachelor of Science in cellular, development, and molecular biology at Purdue University, publishing research in proteomics. During the pandemic, she realized she didn’t feel fulfilled pipetting in a lab and wanted to give back in a more direct way. She withdrew from university and created an art business focused on providing accessible education for young artists without formal training.

Before joining TLA, Juliauna worked in several avenues of education, including an early education nonprofit in Fort Wayne and libraries across northern Indiana. She enjoyed returning to Purdue and completing her bachelor’s in general studies. Being the first in her family to obtain a degree has provided a deeper understanding of the life-changing impacts of education on community.

In her spare time, Juliauna loves running, finding new music, solo traveling, playing guitar, exploring our trail system, and reading with her cat, Amethyst. She is also mildly obsessed with fashion, reality shows, sudoku, and the color pink.
