Kami Gavilanez
Kami Gavilanez graduated from Huntington University with a degree in Elementary Education, but shortly thereafter, she discovered a passion for helping adult immigrants and refugees improve their English language proficiency. After teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) for ten years in Southeast Asia with a local mission organization, she returned to the Fort Wayne area. Since 2011, she has served as an instructor for The Literacy Alliance, teaching English language classes in various locations around the Fort Wayne area as well as High School Equivalency (HSE) classes in Wells County.
Kami has been married to her husband, Marc, for over 30 years, and they have one daughter Dani, who is currently in her third year of university. As empty nesters, they enjoy traveling, jogging, watching movies, and serving in their local church.
