Trevor Waldman
Trevor Waldman started at The Literacy Alliance as a volunteer tutor in May 2019. He has been teaching as a part of Project Aim since April 2023 while continuing to volunteer as a tutor for Project Graduate.
He graduated with a BS in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from Purdue University in 2018, giving him a deep understanding of mathematics to help his students. He worked three of his four years at Purdue, starting out cleaning toilets, and then worked in food service and as a parts packer after graduation until landing at The Literacy Alliance. He received the Gordon Cole Outstanding Volunteer Award for his work as a tutor in 2022.
He loves animals, including his black-and-white cat, Spooky, and his overweight German Shepherd-Husky mutt, Maggie. He’s active in his church in Roanoke and likes to bake, play video games, grow vegetables, and read in his spare time.
