Matt Wire
Matt joined The Literacy Alliance in April 2020 as director of communications and was appointed chief marketing and communications officer in September 2021. His leadership is deeply informed by his own educational path. After dropping out of high school early on, Matt returned later in life to earn his GED before going on to complete an MBA from Indiana Tech. He recently marked another academic milestone in December 2025 by earning a MA in philanthropic studies from the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy.
Giving back to the community is a priority for Matt, and he currently serves as a volunteer on a couple of boards in Northeast Indiana. In addition, Matt serves as a team lead and adjunct at Southern New Hampshire University, where he mentors and instructs aspiring graphic and web designers.
Beyond the desk, Matt treasures time with his friends and family. He is an avid reader, loves and outdoors, and enjoys cooking and tinkering around his century-old home.
